These birds are full of character and provide

a good introduction to random weaving for

beginners.  Create your own bird to perch at

home or in the garden, most people make a

chicken, pheasant or a duck.  This free-form

technique can be adapted to create many

shapes and forms.

Learn to make a small, round basket with a handle

suitable for storing eggs or fruit. This simple

technique was traditionally used by agricultural

workers and travellers and can be made from a

variety of hedgerow materials as well as

prepared willow.

A course for those with some experience to make a

four-legged willow friend, sheep and pigs are the easiest. 

We will be working outside in the morning and this

random weave method requires some physical effort

but it’s well worth the graft.

A lovely life-size creation to live in or out.

This weave is very accessible and perfect for beginners.
